A Child's Voice

My Giant

My Giant

(Click the play button to hear the poem.)

My Giant goes with me everywhere I go
But what he thinks and what he says,
I will never know.
The tops of my ears
Barely touch his giant toes
But on and on and on we walk,
Together yet alone.
My Giant walking with me, everywhere I go.

Mountain tall!
Volcano strong!
Thunder in his hand!
But what is in my Giant's heart
No one can understand.
He's a redwood in a glacier
Beyond the reach of man
But on and on and on we walk,
And he stops just where I stand.

I say go be great
And may you meet your fate
With a Giant of great strength.
And every giant I've known
Has grown and grown
From the smallest of mustard seed faith.

Kiss The Fish

"My son listens to his CD Kiss the Fish almost every night. His ode to Shel Silverstein is a masterpiece!"
